STORAGE: |
Green/spring onions- Wash then dry and remove the most outer layer. Remove the roots and store in a perforated plastic bag in refrigerator. In these conditions, green onions should last 1 week. Mature onions- Store loose or in a mesh bag in a cool, dry place- 50 – 60 degrees. In these conditions, mature/bulb onions should last several months. |
COOKING TIPS: |
Chill onions for 30 minutes before cutting to prevent you from crying. Also, rub your hands and kitchen equipment with salt or lemon to remove any onion odors. |
