STORAGE: |
Store ripe tomatoes at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and they will last for 2-3 days. To ripen a tomato place in a paper bag with the top folded over and small holes punched in the bag. Check daily until they reach your desired ripeness. Overripe tomatoes can be placed in the refrigerator, but are then best used cooked. Can, dehydrate, and/or freeze for long-term preservation. |
COOKING TIPS: |
A serrated knife is best for slicing and chopping tomatoes. To retain the most juice while cutting, cut from stem end to blossom end. |
